The Seaside Overtook the Mountains During Winter Holidays

For years, the mountains dominated as the most popular winter holiday destination among Poles. Ski slopes attracted winter sports enthusiasts. Recently, however, domestic tourists have begun to appreciate shorter, relaxation-focused breaks. According to data from Triverna.pl, the average stay during this year’s winter holidays was 3.1 nights. Short seaside getaways are increasingly popular.

“The biggest beneficiary of the season was the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, accounting for 39.7% of all bookings and recording a 25.1% increase compared to last year. This is the best result among all regions and a clear signal that the Baltic Sea has become one of the main winter leisure destinations,” the Triverna report states.

Międzyzdroje – The Most Popular Resort

City-level data further highlights the growing popularity of seaside resorts in winter. The most popular destination was Międzyzdroje (7.8% of all bookings; +7% year-on-year), followed by Świnoujście (5.7%; +294% year-on-year). Świeradów-Zdrój and Kołobrzeg ranked third ex aequo (5.1%). Notably, no Tatra resort made the podium.
